Doing the Thing

You are not limited to these hang-out types. In fact, the only limits are your imagination...
well, and that bothersome real-life stuff that doesn't always cooperate.

How?

Through de-frictioning neighborly meets and hangouts, Joelio helps you build those IRL connections waiting just outside your door, every day.

Go (safely) Wild with Adventure Mode!

I'm coming out, so you better get this party started!

In the days of yesteryear, you would walk out of your house and be well on your way to adventure. Now, we live in highly insulated climate controlled boxes and have everything delivered. Even answering or knocking on a neighborly door is most often a regimented affair.

Click adventure. Go on a walk. Bring random into your life (with Joelio smoothing out some of its bumps.)Joelio tells the people you want told that you're out and makes it easy to hop into a hang-out. They can join you on an adventure. Or invite you over. Got a guitar? I have a song.

Easily & Safely Discover Your People

In Joelio, you can let your whole identity hang out, all the time or wear randomized masks on verified identities, as suits you best. So suited, you can find people in several ways:

  • At any time you can make use of robust interest, verification and other filters to find your people and best IRL hangouts on-demand.
  • It's the network! When you add someone as a friend, you can send a short list of 2-5 interests. If they know someone else with the same, the system helps introductions, masked or in-person, happen.
  • We also randomly group you around a virtual water cooler, once a month, with four new people, each of you masked. Chat & make friends or yeet on out. Take the best connects IRL.

Who will you be?

In Joelio, you are in full control of your identity.

Strong pseudonymity means you are masked everywhere in Joelio that you want to be, and you don't have to wear the same mask twice. Unmask as much as you want to, when you want to.

You can take peer verifications (like proof that you are a real person, that you love purple socks and more) with you between your masked pseudo-identities and share those - or not - exactly as you want to.

You will know the people you interact with have at least the verifications they share with you, too.

Safety in Community

Emergent event got you sweating? Quickly reach out to those around you!

Joelio includes a basic emergency communications network with your neighbors to help you get good Samaritan help that can get to you fast.

Place pseudonymous or full reveal requests for help and quickly share your location and any details you can with those specific people or verified types you have picked, from friends to medical pros to the whole neighborhood.

And we never creep on you...
